The complete lack of pace has been fucking me off for a very long time

Re: Tiki-Taka is dead. Speed is the answer are we doomed?
I agree. Slow possession football died a while back, first by teams playing a defend deep, pace based counter attack system, amd then with a high intensity high paced high lress style game. Both counter the slow possession technical game well which is designed to drag teams out of position and pick holes to thread through.

Trouble we are having is the average teams play the deep block counter (which is effective against Us) and the top teams play the latter hugh paced high lress game which is also effective.

Our best games come when we're forced to play the former by a second echelon teams, and the likes of Antonio and Masuaku, Anderson and Lanzini are then able to break on the counter with pace.

Otherwise our most likely source of a goal seems to be the left back on the over lap, or Snodgrass' delivery from corners.

Turn it in, Mex. We're in 16th place.

Fabianski also helps for playing.
But your right Sajmo, too much doom and gloom on here. At times I feel people want a crap team and bad results for some reason.

Re: Tiki-Taka is dead. Speed is the answer are we doomed?
Agreed mex we need antonio, manu and arthur back in order to play well

Re: Tiki-Taka is dead. Speed is the answer are we doomed?
We are not so far from combining possession and speed. All we need is a fit Antonio and/or our skillful possession players moving the ball forward with more urgency.

Barcelona always had pace.
They still play possession football.

City are suffering from not strengthening the defence.

Have always been surprised that Son hasn’t attracted the attention of bigger clubs.
He would fit in at a Real Madrid , PSG , Liverpool etc

We play sloppy glacial football at the moment.
Completely the opposite of what is successful in the modern game.
You watch the likes of Leicester , Liverpool etc pass , run and break and you physically can’t visualise doing ANY of that.

Re: Tiki-Taka is dead. Speed is the answer are we doomed?
Nothing too new, all good teams have players with pace.

We prefer to sign the Noble pace model

Re: Tiki-Taka is dead. Speed is the answer are we doomed?
Agree. Watching a few games yesterday the speed and precision some of the sides were breaking at was very impressive. Son is on a completely different level to anyone that we have. And to answer your question, yes we are fucked.

Re: Tiki-Taka is dead. Speed is the answer are we doomed?
You’re right but I’m saying that it’s playing hard and fast that is having the most success which we certainly don’t apart from when Antonio is in the team

Re: Tiki-Taka is dead. Speed is the answer are we doomed?
But we don’t play tiki-taka?
